1. Our investment services

Financial portfolio management (known as: asset management): we make investment decisions independently for you

Investment brokerage: we forward your orders to product providers

1.1 General description

In discretionary portfolio management we independently manage your assets. We buy or sell financial instruments in your name without agreeing every step with you individually.

For this you need, among other things, two things:

  • Securities account: this is where your securities are booked,
  • Settlement account: income, proceeds and costs flow through this account.

Both are maintained by a bank, not by us. Together they are called your portfolio.

Investment brokerage is also referred to as “execution-only business”. This is because no recommendation is given. We merely broker a transaction for you involving the purchase or sale of a financial instrument.

1.2 What is “independent” wealth management?

We take investment decisions independently of the interests of banks.

1.3 What are financial instruments?

Asset management and investment brokerage relate to investment opportunities in the form of “financial instruments”. Financial instruments include, among others:

  • Securities (e.g. equities and bonds) and
  • Units in investment funds

Not included are: real estate, classic cars, works of art and crypto-assets (e.g. Bitcoin).

1.4 Further explanations to understand wealth management and investment brokerage

In order to be able to act in your interest, we ask you at the outset for your personal data and your wishes and thereby determine:

  • Your financial circumstances (= What is the size of your assets, your ongoing income and your ongoing expenditure and other liabilities, and thus the amount available to you for investment?)
  • Your investment objectives (= What do you want to achieve by investing your assets? Examples: long-term wealth accumulation or retirement provision)
  • Your investment horizon (= For what period would you like to invest your money? Over the long term for several years, or only over the short term for a few months? When will you need the money again?)
  • Your risk appetite (= Which value fluctuations or losses in the managed portfolio are you prepared to accept?)
  • Your sustainability preferences (= Should ecological or social criteria be taken into account in the investment?)
  • Your knowledge and experience in investing (= What is your level of knowledge of the risks associated with the investment?)

With the custody account we can buy or sell securities, but cannot transfer assets to other accounts. Before we begin, we inform you of the expected costs.

All of this is set out in the wealth management agreement and the investment brokerage agreement. We only commence wealth management and investment brokerage after the agreement has been concluded.

1.5 Our regular information on wealth management

You receive reports from us on the performance of the wealth management and investment brokerage. These contain all important information on the past developments of your portfolio, performance, costs, income and transactions. Should your portfolio reach a value decline of 10 %, we will inform you additionally. In investment brokerage you receive supplementary information and notices where available (e.g. product information, prospectuses and key investor information).

1.6 On the term of wealth management and investment brokerage

The discretionary portfolio-management contract has no fixed term. You may terminate the contract with two weeks’ notice. Termination must be in text form, e.g. by e-mail to [email protected]. ZUWAX may terminate the contract with four weeks’ notice to the end of the month.

As investment brokerage in each case constitutes a one-off transaction, there is no right of termination.

1.7 On the costs of wealth management and investment brokerage

At the outset you receive clear information on costs. We receive a regular fee for our work – depending on the amounts we manage for you. Prior losses are deducted first. The exact fees are set out contractually.

Further costs and taxes:

The bank charges for the custody account, the account and for purchases or sales. In addition, income from securities is taxable. This tax is in part remitted directly to the respective tax authority.

1.8 When does a right of withdrawal apply?

A right of withdrawal exists, for example, for 14 days for contracts concluded online and by telephone. This can be exercised e.g. by email to [email protected]. If the withdrawal is effective, the services received must be returned. You must pay compensation for the value of the services we have provided up to that point.

2. How do we meet the accessibility requirements?

You will receive all information:

  • on site in paper form,
  • read aloud by our employees,
  • on our website.

The content of this information is formulated in readily understandable language (B2 level). We use a highly legible typeface (Mark Pro) and, on request, provide you with documents in enlarged type.

2.1 Accessibility of our website:

You can find out about our company and the services offered on our website. The content of our website complies with the general principles of accessible web content. Our website is designed according to the principles of accessibility (perceivability, operability, understandability, robustness).

2.2 Accessibility of wealth management and investment brokerage:

The documents we provide are compatible with assistive technologies and can be explained by us. We accompany the conclusion of the wealth-management agreement and the investment-brokerage agreement. So-called “digital onboarding” makes it possible to conclude the agreement online and without paper. The process is designed to be user-friendly.

Your identity is then verified and you can sign the contract digitally.

We then open a custody account and commence wealth management in accordance with the previously agreed guidelines.

You can ask questions at any time. The process is designed to be accessible.
